3.19.1 Patch Notes

The Dawn of War II: Retribution team have been hard at work on the next patch.  3.19.1 will be released soon and here's a look at what it includes.

General:

  • Special Attacks which were set to ability_knockback have been changed to weapon_knockback

Chaos Space Marines:

  • Chaos Lord Blood Maul cost changed from 150 / 50 to 150 / 35
  • Chaos Dreadnought cost reduced from 450 140 / to 410 / 120
  • Plague Marine Missile Snare reduced from 40% to 25%

Eldar:

  • Wraith Lord Cost changed from 420 / 120 to 400 / 100

Imperial Guard:

  • Catachan Total Squad Size reduced from 7 to 5
  • Catachan Entity health scaled to 210 per entity
  • Catachan Shotgun damage scaled from 20 to 30
  • Catachan Melee damage scaled from 20 to 30

Tyranid:

  • Tyrant Guard move speed increased from 3.5 to 4
  • Ravener Alpha Acid Splatter cost reduced from 135 / 30 to 120 / 20

Orks:

  • Ork Deff Dread Burna upgrade cost changed from 180 / 20 to 160 / 20
  • Ork Battlewagon main cannon damage reduced from 200 to 170
  • Ork Battlewagon rotation rate increased from 30 degrees per second to 40 degrees per second

Space Marines:

  • Dreadnought cost reduced from 500 / 140 to 450 / 120
  • Force Commander Armor of Alacrity cost increased from 110 / 20 to 120 /30

Let the games begin! 66% off Dawn of War

The sale on Steam is now underway, with Warhammer titles being 66% off - which includes all Dawn of War II titles, Dawn of War, and Space Marine.

As mentioned yesterday, Dawn of War II is also free to play this weekend, and Braden "bC" Chan will be playing online playing in team games of Retribution today and tomorrow.  Keep an eye out for him.  Good luck and have fun!

Play a Developer Event February 2-3

Dawn of War II will be on sale this weekend on Steam, and it will also be free to play over the weekend as well, so if you have a friend that is interested in trying it out, now is the time.

In addition to that, Relic Balance Designer Braden “bC” Chan will be online and playing team games of Dawn of War II: Retribution on February 2 and 3.  He’ll be available for team games, give him a shout if you see him in the chat channel, as well as jumping into random team games from 11:00am-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 PST.  (14:00-15:00 and 16:00- 20:00 EST, 19:00-20:00 and 21:00-01:00 GMT)  All players and skill levels are welcome to get involved and play with or against Braden - his in-game name is bC.

Braden has been at work on the next balance update for Retribution and it is nearing completion.  Stay tuned for more information on that.

Warhammer 40,000 Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Today marks the 25th Anniversary of Warhammer 40,000.

Here at Relic we have been working with Games Workshop and the WH40K universe for a while now and we're grateful for the chance to play around with Games Workshop's creation. From the Blood Ravens of Dawn of War and Dawn of War II to the Ultramarines of Space Marine, we hope you've enjoyed our time in the 40K universe as much as we have.

So congratulations to Games Workshop, and here's to looking forward to another great 25 years, and beyond.

ESL 1on1 Winter Cup Series

Starting on Sunday February 5, the ESL's latest cup series will be getting underway, which gives us all a little time to practice up.

"Winter is coming. Sure, there is plenty of stuff you could do outside - but by doing that you could get cold. So why not have some fun inside your house? As chance would have it we host our 1on1 Winter Cup Series 2012 in these cold times, so join the fun!" - ESL

Retribution Nominated for AIAS Award

More award news as the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences today announced the finalists for their annual game industry awards that are handed out each year in Las Vegas during the D.I.C.E. summit in February.  Dawn of War II: Retribution made the list of finalists in the Strategy Game of the Year category:
